Correlations between microbiota and metabolites after faecal microbiota transfer in irritable bowel syndrome

چکیده

Faecal microbiota transfer (FMT) consists of the infusion donor faecal material into intestine a patient with aim to restore disturbed gut microbiota. In this study, it was investigated whether FMT has an effect on microbial composition, its functional capacity, metabolite profiles and their interactions in 16 irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients. samples from eight different time points before until six months after allogenic (faecal healthy donor) as well autologous (own material) were analysed by 16S RNA gene amplicon sequencing gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (GS-MS). The results showed that resulted alterations composition detectable up months, whereas not case. Similar found for profiles, which predicted phylogenetic data. While both did have metabolites measured correlations between microbe-metabolite seemed be disrupted compared FMT. This shows can lead altered IBS Further research should investigate if how affects efficacy treatments.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gut Microbiota and Probiotics

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a complex disorder characterized by abdominal symptoms including chronic abdominal pain or discomfort and altered bowel habits. The etiology of IBS is multifactorial, as abnormal gut motility, visceral hypersensitivity, disturbed neural function of the brain-gut axis and an abnormal autonomic nervous system are all implicated in disease progression. Based on re...

Comparison of faecal microbiota in Blastocystis-positive and Blastocystis-negative irritable bowel syndrome patients

BACKGROUND We investigated whether the carriage of Blastocystis in IBS patients was associated with differences in the faecal microbiota. Forty patients with diarrhoea-predominant IBS (26 Blastocystis-positive and 14 Blastocystis-negative) and 57 healthy controls (HC) (42 Blastocystis-positive and 15 Blastocystis-negative) submitted faecal samples for metataxonomic analysis of the 16S ribosomal...

Gastrointestinal microbiota in irritable bowel syndrome: present state and perspectives.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder that has been associated with aberrant microbiota. This review focuses on the recent molecular insights generated by analysing the intestinal microbiota in subjects suffering from IBS. Special emphasis is given to studies that compare and contrast the microbiota of healthy subjects with that of IBS patients classified into...

No difference in small bowel microbiota between patients with irritable bowel syndrome and healthy controls

Several studies have indicated that colonic microbiota may exhibit important differences between patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and healthy controls. Less is known about the microbiota of the small bowel. We used massive parallel sequencing to explore the composition of small bowel mucosa-associated microbiota in patients with IBS and healthy controls. We analysed capsule biopsies...
